Hereditary Cancer Testing Options
GenPath has run hundreds of thousands hereditary cancer tests to date. Since the beginning our philosophy has been to provide tests that are in line with national guidelines. This maximizes the potential for actionable patient findings while minimizing the potential for uninformative results.
Our clinical team, comprised of genetic counselors, MDs, and PhDs, thoroughly review the scientific literature and determine clinical validity before adding a gene to any assay. Hereditary cancer genetic testing has grown rapidly and the number of genes associated with different cancers has expanded significantly. It can be difficult to find the best test for your patient, but with our syndrome specific, tumor specific, or comprehensive test options, we make it easy for you to make an informed decision. Still have questions? Our board-certified cancer genetic counselors can be reach by phone at (800) 627-1479 or by email at CancerGC@GenPath.com
Testing options available:
*Testing includes sequencing and deletion duplication for all genes except CEBPA (seq only), EPCAM (del/dup only), and SCG5/GREM1 (del/dup only).
**For certain hematological conditions, fibroblasts are the preferred specimen. More information can be found at https://www.genpathdiagnostics.com/hcp/oncology/hereditary-cancer-testing/specimen-requirements/
