Gregory S. Henderson, MD, PhD was named President of BioReference Laboratories in March, 2016. BioReference Laboratories, together with its GeneDx, GenPath and Laboratorio Buena Salud business units, is a world leader in diagnostic and genomic testing, expertise and services. BioReference is a division of OPKO Health, Inc.
Prior to joining BioReference Labs, he served as Vice Chairman of Outreach, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine for Mount Sinai Health System from 2014. In this role, he oversaw the business growth and operations of one of the largest laboratory outreach programs in the USA. Dr. Henderson received his MD and PhD degrees at Vanderbilt University. He completed his MD and PhD at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine as an NIH Medical Scientist Training Program Fellow. He did his clinical pathology training at ARUP/University of Utah, and his anatomic pathology training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. He did specialty fellowship training in breast, gynecologic and oncologic pathology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Dr. Henderson was a founder and senior partner at Wilmington Pathology Associates and NextWave Diagnostic Laboratories in Wilmington NC, which was acquired by Solstas Lab Partners/Quest Diagnostics in 2011. He was the Director of Anatomic Pathology and Associate Chairman of Pathology at the Ochsner Health System in New Orleans, LA, from 2005-2007 during which he was part of a group of leaders who participated in the rebuilding of healthcare infrastructure after Hurricane Katrina. Subsequently, he became a senior partner of Pathology Associates of Kitsap County (PAKC) in the Greater Seattle area. LabCorp acquired the PAKC laboratory in 2014. He founded Pacific Pathology Partners, a pathology practice that serves hospitals throughout the Puget Sound and is the primary pathology services provider to LabCorp Northwest’s five state region. Dr. Henderson served as the medical director for the Northwest Regional LabCorp facility from 2012-2014.
Dr. Henderson’s passions also encompass diagnostic innovations. He was co-founder and Chief Medical Officer of PathCentral, LLC in Irvine, CA, where he co-developed the first cloud based anatomic pathology information system, the technology of which was acquired by Xifin, LLC in 2013. He is also the Founder and President of PathForcedx, a company that leverages cloud technology solutions to provide digital pathology consultations which provides access to quality diagnostics in the developed and developing world.

Dr. Weisberger has been GenPath’s Chief Medical Officer since 2004. He is a recognized leader in hematopathology with more than 40 publications as abstracts or peer- reviewed journal articles. He has continued to teach, for more than 15 years, as a Clinical Associate Professor of Pathology and Medicine at the New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. Dr. Weisberger was Chief Resident in Pathology at Westchester Medical Center and completed a fellowship in hematopathology at the New York – Cornell Medical Center under Dr. Daniel Knowles, an internationally recognized Hematopathologist. Dr. Weisberger earned both a BS and an MS from Stanford University and an MD from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Weisberger is board certified in internal medicine, hematopathology, and anatomic and clinical pathology.
